The Rural Lab

The Rural Lab is a research and solution-development initiative that empowers our community to explore and develop innovative solutions to our toughest local challenges. Our focus is public health, social connection, and rural resilience.

The goals of The Rural Lab are to:

  • Generate region-specific public health knowledge, trends, and solutions through research focused on emergent issues affecting rural health and wellbeing.
  • Lead and develop program collaborations and initiatives with local leaders, stakeholders, and community partners that fill the gaps in health and wellbeing services, and solve rural public health issues that have been researched and vetted through The Rural Lab.
  • Provide mentorship, support, and a space for rural innovation by partnering with community members as they lead and develop solutions to local issues.
  • Promote local, free access through technology to vital resources tailored specifically for our local communities and rural needs.
